James Wilkin

June 23, 1950 — November 25, 2013

Jim, Jimmy Wilkin passed away 11/25/2013 in Englewoood, CO. He is survived by his wife and life partner of over 35 years, Patti Wilkin, his brother, Bobby Wilkin of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, his sister and her husband, Margaret and Keith Folino of Littleton, Colorado, his nephew, Dante, his nieces, Lisa and Dawn, his great nieces, Mary, Ali, and Drea, his great nephews, Michael and Tyler, and Ashley Folino who was his trusted apprentice. He leaves behind many other friends, and business associates too numerous to mention.

Jim met the challenge of cancer head on with the same determination and class that he displayed in all other aspects of his life. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by all of us who knew him.

Jim and his wife, Patti, have been the owner/operators of Apple Glass, a company specializing in carved and sandblasted glass for 27 years. Jim was well respected in the Denver area due to his talent, artistic ability in the field of glass carving and his uncompromising business ethics. His work can be found throughout Colorado as well as Ohio, Wyoming and even as far away as China. An outstanding example of the beauty and complexity of his work can be seen in the main Lobby of Platte Valley Medical Center in Brighton, Colorado.

Jim was a passionate and active member of the Democratic party of Adams County. His historical knowledge and political savvy were unsurpassed. He worked tirelessly in every election canvassing his district to promote those people who shared his ideals and whom he felt would pursue policies that would improve his city, state and country.

Jim left us as a proud veteran of the US Navy. We salute him and his memory.
