James Enos Teter passed away peacefully on September 7, 2016, at the University of Colorado Denver Hospital, after a valiant fight with Melanoma Cancer. He was born September 3, 1969, in Boulder, Colorado and lived in various places throughout his life; including Colorado, Oklahoma, California, Texas and Oregon. He graduated from High School in Georgetown, Texas and from University of North Texas with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Upon graduation he worked with various companies including: the wood products industry, health care industry, owning his own tile subcontracting business, and most recently in the recreation and snow sports industry as a distribution and operations manager with Vail Resorts Corporation.
James was always active in sporting activities from his youth through adulthood. He played such sports as baseball, football, soccer, and basketball throughout his school years and became an excellent snow boarder in his adulthood. He was an avid outdoor enthusiast loving camping, fishing, hiking, riding his motorcycle and his love of all snow sports. He was an adventurist who loved traveling and trying such endeavors as skateboarding, parachuting and sky diving. Professional sports such as football, baseball and basketball were activities he enjoyed watching throughout his life, being a Houston Oiler/Tennessee Titan fan since his youth, as well as the Denver professional teams after moving to Denver in 1999.
In 2001, he met the love of his life, Raina Schreiber; and, in 2005 they were married in a beautiful ceremony on the beach of the Island of Kauai, Hawaii. They were blessed in 2008 with the birth of their daughter, Hanalei, whom her Dad thoroughly loved and adored.
James was a very giving and loving person donating his time and talents to various charitable organizations; by participating in "Hope on the Slopes" Cancer Charity, providing shoes for the needy, giving pizza annually to Colorado Children's Hospital with the Vail Industries employees, and donating other personal items to various charities. He was a member of the Wyoming Society, National Society Sons of the American Revolution.
He is survived by his wife Raina, daughter Hanalei, parents Bill and Darla, brother Tom (Sharon), sister Tracey Lomax (Ronald), five nephews and one niece. He is also survived by his wife's family, Teri and Mark Wilson, Kurt and Leigh Schreiber, Natalie and Jarrett Schreiber and two nieces. Also surviving are his long time good friends Tom Spalik and Ron Hamann, as well as many other friends he made over the course of his life.
