James Spalding
June 12, 1955 — August 20, 2017
James Jefferson Spalding (Byrd), age 62 of Nashville, TN went to be with the Lord on August 20, 2017. James was born in Lebanon, KY on June 12, 1955. Preceded in death by his parents Mary and Earnest Spalding and sister, Georgia Spalding Carroll. Survived by sisters Tina Ford, Mary Ann Legg, and Mary Knott and brothers Eddie L, Joseph, and William E. (Michele) Spalding. Also survived by his niece and caregiver, Tarika Carter and a host of other relatives and friends.
Byrd enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and cooking. His quick wit and sense of humor were one of his many lovable traits that will be missed so much. He had love for children and will always be remembered as the "cool uncle."
He worked for many years in Maintenance for St. Vincent de Paul Church and School, St. Edward's Church and School and Bethany Healthcare.
A very special thank you to all the employees at NHC Murfreesboro for your special care in the past four years. Also, thank you to Caris Hospice for your services.
