James Mason

February 22, 1945 — August 22, 2018

Jim Mason 73, a resident of Commerce City, Colorado passed away on August 22,2018 at St Joseph Medical Center in Denver. Jim was born in Ault, Colorado and spent much of his growing years in Estes Park, Colorado. He was the youngest son of Grace and Asa Mason Jr (deceased). His older brother Jerry Lee Mason passed away in July of 2017.

Jim is survived by Flo Goffinsk her children, their beloved dogs Thor, Angel and Millie and a cousin Ronald D. Graham all from the Denver area.

Jim's years in Estes Park were spent helping his father with his contracting business. Many of these buildings are still in use to this day. Later Jim and his father Asa moved to Fort Collins rather taking care of each other. Jim enjoyed reminiscing about the wonderful trip he and his dad took to Australia.

Being a truck driver Jim had traveled roads throughout the United States and Canada and readily shared his adventures delivering goods. Even after retirement he delivered cars and trucks to the local dealerships as he always seemed drawn to the road. It was interesting to hear him share how much some of the vehicle's cost, and as our family always had pick-up trucks were astounded when he shared that he had delivered at truck that cost almost $100,000.

Jim thoroughly enjoyed his early morning coffee with friends at the local truck stop. He and Flo enjoyed eating out and spending time with their pets. Jim will be greatly missed by his buddy Thor along with his family. Services will be held Thursday September 6th 10:00 AM at Horan-McConaty Mortuary; Colorado Blvd and Mississippi (1091 South Colorado Blvd.) Denver. Contributions in Jim's name are welcomed to the Denver Dumb Friends League.
