James Clare Klotz (Big Jim) 78 of Aurora Colorado died October 14, 2018 at the Medical Center of Aurora from complications due to pulmonary fibrosis.
James was born September 9, 1940 in St. Cloud Minnesota to Alfred and Irene Klotz. James graduated from Cathedral High School in St Cloud in 1958 and joined the United States Marine Corps in November of 1958. He proudly served as an aviation hydraulic mechanic aboard the USS Oriskany until 1962 when he was honorably discharged. He moved to Denver in 1963 where he met Carolyn Jones and they were married in January of 1966. James worked at Rocky Flats Nuclear Weapons Plant from 1980 until his retirement in 2000. A lover of the outdoors, Jim spent a lot of time hunting, fishing and camping with his family and friends.
James is survived by Carolyn, his wife of 52 years, children Gregory, Melissa, and Christopher, granddaughter, Alyssa, sister-in-law, Mary Lou Jones, nephews, Mike and Mark and niece Melanie.
Memorial Service will be held November 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
