James Fielder

James Lamarr Fielder passed away peacefully at Quality Center for Rehabilitation and Healing in Lebanon, TN on March 2, 2020 at the age of 83.
Lamarr was born in Dyersburg, Tennessee to James Thomas Fielder and Sue Francis Fielder. He was married to Nancy G. Fielder on February 14th, 1959 and they had just celebrated 61 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife Nancy G. Fielder, daughter Cathy Fielder Brindos, son-in-law Robert Brindos, grandchildren Jessica and Jason Brindos, brother Larry (Dianne) Fielder and cousins, nieces and nephews.
Lamarr serviced as President of the Middle Tennessee Iris Society and spent many countless hours working in the gardens at Ellington Agricultural Center and the state Capital. Iris were a passion for him and a legacy from his father. He shared his iris with friends far and near, and it is a blessing o know that his iris will bloom for many years to come in gardens of those friends and family.
He was a veteran of the Air Force and served during the Korean war. He played the trumpet for Dyersburg High School and the Air Force Bugle Corp, he played football at Dyersburg High and Murray State, he was a softball coach for many years at Una Recreation, a teacher at LaVergne High School, an amazing father and grandfather and a friend to those in need. He volunteered his time to stock the Una Church Food Pantry for over 15 years, sang in the church choir, worked vacation Bible school and was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
A Memorial Service will be held at Una Baptist Church in Nashville, TN on Saturday March 14th, 2020. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00am with the Memorial Service at 11:00.
