James Byron Daoust, age 68 passed away unexpectedly in his home in Aurora, CO on November 16th, 2024. He was raised in New Britain, CT, where he spent most of his life until moving to Colorado in 1997. He served in the US. Navy and worked in the financial and telecommunication industries throughout his career.
James was an avid sports fan, guitarist, and member of the Colorado Blues Society. He was a music lover and would often attend blues shows with his family and friends. He was thrilled to be able to share that love and passion with his grandchildren and gave each of them guitar lessons. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather, brother, and friend and would do anything for those he loved. He was passionate about the things that mattered most to him and always told it like it was. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Nancy Daoust, his parents, Marion and Richard (Dick) Johnston and brother Charles Antolini.
James is survived by his children, Jason Benson, Melissa Benson, Reggie Daoust, dog Princess, grandchildren, Kyleigh Knapp, Connor Ross, Dominic Davis as well as his siblings Bonnie Benson, Cindy Labreque, Michael Johnston and Richard Johnston.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date where friends and family are invited to gather, share memories and honor his life.
James will be missed dearly by all that knew him, but he will never be forgotten.
