Jacque Ostheimer passed away peacefully Thursday September 2 in Santa Fe, NM. She was born in Elk City, OK to Jack and Margaret Dawson Cummings and she lived a full and rewarding life. With her husband Alfred James Ostheimer III, they travelled the world amassing various collections including Hawaiian shells, coins, and stamps. Often, these collections became the most complete, definitive collections of that material at that time. Some were donated to museums around the country. With a vivacious, strong personality and a thirst for learning, Jacque loved entertaining and met many luminaries and dignitaries from all walks of life. She entertained artists, musicians, 4-star generals, and politicians. Her parties were known for having a diverse mix of guests. Jacque was also very giving of her time and a dedicated volunteer.
Jacque loved remodeling homes in Philadelphia, Honolulu, Santa Fe, Eleuthera, and Colorado Springs. A longtime resident of Santa Fe, she and Alfred moved here from Hawaii in 1976 to be closer to family.
Jacque is survived by two daughters, Jace Colbert (from her marriage to Castleman deTolly Chesley) and Maggi Hill (from her marriage to Alfred) as well as three grandchildren, Jacque Colbert-Johnson, Katherine Colbert Kruger and Greer Hill, and one great grandchild, Chesley Marvin.
The Family of Jacque Ostheimer has entrusted the care of their beloved one to Avista Cremation & Burial "where healing begins."
