Jackye Mae (Jones) Ivey, age 92, of Denver, CO passed away peacefully Friday, May 10, 2024. She was born January 19, 1932 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Clyde Jones and Bethel (Stockburger) Jones. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bethel (Stockburger) Jones, a brother Douglas Jones and a sister Gayle (Jones) Phillips. The family lived early on in Winslow, Arkansas and then moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas, where many dear friendships were forged. Jackye raised three children who grew up in Fayetteville and she worked in a law office as an administrative assistant. In the mid 1970s, Jackye moved with her daughters to Lakewood, Colorado and established a home and friends and continued to work in similar capacity in a law office there. She was a caring and compassionate person who loved the Rocky Mountains, was a voracious reader and travelled extensively during her retirement years. Our love and memory of our Mom will never pass.
Surviving are Jackye’s 2 daughters Annette Ivey and Mary Margaret Ivey, both of Denver CO, a son Kent Ivey of Vancouver WA, 3 grandchildren; Aaron Ivey and April Ivey of Denver and Wesley Ivey of Vancouver WA. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Sunshine at Pinehurst, (Denver based assisted living) for their care and kindness.
