It is with profound sadness to announce Jack Allen Bayman’s quiet passing at the age of ninety-one on November 2nd, 2024, following a short illness. Born on August 29th, 1933, in Piqua, Ohio, Jack was a lifelong enthusiast of the outdoors and nature and dedicated much of his life to enjoying and exploring the natural world, both personally and professionally, and he will be sorely missed by family, friends and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jack graduated in 1951 from Piqua (Ohio) High School, after which he served two years in the Ohio National Guard as a radar operator with an anti-aircraft regiment. Following this, his professional career spanned various occupations and locations, including serving as a technician at Hartzell Propeller Company in Piqua, Ohio, a contract manager at Behm Glass Company in Dayton, Ohio, and later as a creative artist, wood carver and instructor originally in Arvada, Colorado and later in Palmer Lake, Colorado.
An avid outdoorsman, Jack was deeply and selflessly involved with family and friends in activities such as camping, fishing, Boy Scouts, Explorer Scouts, canoeing and the love of nature, particularly all animals great and small. His passion for nature was not only a hobby but the living expression of his expansive talent for artistic creation evident in his work as a nature artist, wood carver and teacher.
An avid sports enthusiast, Jack competed in high school basketball and baseball and participated in various league sports throughout much of his life. Rare were the days when he was not watching a sporting event on television, listening to a game on the radio or arranging a football game with his sons and neighborhood friends at a local park.
Jack enjoyed an impressive reputation as an accomplished wildlife artist with his works on display in countless galleries throughout the country and in many private collections and was driven to share his talents through instructing others who shared his passions both within his studio and in local college classrooms.
Jack is survived by son and daughter-in-law John and Lori Bayman, of Parker, Colorado, son Jeff Bayman of Castle Rock, Colorado, and grand-children Cooper Bayman, Jack R Bayman, Hilary (Bayman) Klenjoski, Alicia (Bayman) Salyards, Matthew Bayman, Dawn (Bayman) Johnson, Kimberly (Bayman) Frazier, and was blessed with multiple great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Bayman; his partner, Bonita Wilkinson; and his children, Kirk M. Bayman, Mark A. Bayman, and Mary Bayman, and grand-daughter Christy Bayman.
Jack will be fondly remembered as a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and respected friend, cherished for his ability to bring laughter, and caring into the lives of those who were blessed with the opportunity to know him over his ninety-one years amongst us. Always quick to laugh, slow to criticize and driven to help others while possessing limitless patience, Jack’s absence in this world will be felt for years to come.
In lieu of services, those wishing to honor Jack's memory are encouraged to make a contribution to the Audubon Society, Sierra Club, or Scouting USA, organizations that reflect his love for the environment, animals, and community engagement or simply in his memory, enjoy a walk amongst nature as he had enjoyed on countless occasions. He will be sorely missed by his family, fellow artists, and friends.
