Ivan Cordovez

April 3, 1944 — March 17, 2016

Ivan Alzamora Cordovez, passed away on March 17, 2016, peacefully in his sleep in Lakewood, Colorado.

He was born on April 3, 1944, in Riobamba, Ecuador to Daniel Alzamora and Edith Cordovez. April 3, 2016, would have been his 72nd birthday.

The family wanted to Celebrate his Life on April 3 because for him that is a very special date. Not only because of his birthday, but because his wife Angela was also born on this date. When he met her in November of 1964, he said he had found his twin soul, and after 4 months of dating, he asked her to marry him, which they did on September 25, 1965.

He wrote a poem to Angela, asking God to keep them together forever, and after all, they stayed together for 51 years.

In 1968, he moved to Connecticut with Angela and his son Daniel, where he lived for most of his life. He finished his education at Henry Abbott Technical School in Danbury, Connecticut, where he received training as an industrial mechanic. He was a very successful employee at The Barden Corporation in Connecticut where he worked for 38 years until his retirement in 2006.

Ivan was a loving family man. He was a loving husband, the best father and grandfather and a good friend to all. He was a happy, positive person who loved to laugh. He was sincere, honest, generous and compassionate with everyone.

He is survived by his wife Angela, his 2 children, Daniel and Monica, and his 4 grandchildren Paola, Carter, Alexandra and Daniel. He will be lovingly remembered by all.

The Memorial Service will be held at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home South Denver Chapel, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd. Denver, Colorado 80246 on April 3rd, 2016 at 11 AM.
