Isabel Montoya

Isabel Maria Martinez Montoya, 80 a resident of Arroyo Seco passed away May 25, 2016, surrounded by her loving family, after a lengthy illness.  She was born July 1, 1935 in Cuarteles and graduated from Santa Cruz High School in 1955.  She worked at Bishops Lodge in Santa Fe where she met Juan Elizario Montoya. They were married on December 29, 1956
She is preceded in death by her parents Ascencion and Esther Martinez, her husband, Juan Elizario Montoya, and her sister, Rose Florence.
She is survived by her daughters Irina Montoya-Velarde and Carla Montoya-Rivera (James), sons Harry (Doris), John (Loyola) and Harold (Swanne) Montoya; grandchildren Harry Brian (Andrea) Montoya, Angelo Juan Montoya, Livia Peters, Roberta Montoya (Brandon), Sophia, Cayla and Elizario Rivera; great grandchildren Rafael, Lourdes, Marireyna, Galatia and Sarai Montoya, Isabella and Ava Peters, Zander and Ezra Montoya; sisters Adelina Quintana, Amada Villareal, Ermelinda Martinez, and Delia Martinez (Gilbert); brother Rubel Martinez (Laura); sister-in-law Angelina Roybal; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
A public visitation will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada Catholic Church in Santa Cruz with a rosary to be recited at 9:00 a.m.  A memorial mass will follow at 10:00 also at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada Catholic Church to be celebrated by Fr. John Plans with Msgr. Jerome as a co-celebrant. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Nambe with the following serving the family as pallbearers, Harry Brian and Angelo Juan Montoya, Livia Peters and Roberta Montoya, Sophia, Cayla and Elizario Rivera. Honorary pallbearers are Adelina Quintana, Amada Villareal, Rubel Martinez, Ermelinda Martinez and Delia Martinez.
