Irene Brookhart passed from this world on March 9, 2021 at her home in Centennial, CO. She was kind, generous, beautiful, interested and interesting; and loving wife and mother, cherished and beloved by all. Born in Pueblo, CO to Joe and Pauline Tezak, Irene attended Pueblo Catholic High School. She then entered Marycrest College in Davenport, IA, earning a degree in medical technology. There, she met Ambrose College student Jack Brookhart and the two were married in 1957, moving to Pueblo shortly after. As a coach’s wife, Irene attended countless sports events, cheering for Jack’s teams, sometimes even washing the team jerseys. They moved to Centennial in 1970. Irene was an incredibly dedicated mother; always cooking, playing the piano, singing, playing games and enjoying her children. Her grandchildren could do no wrong. Irene worked in several administrative positions later in life. She also wrote poetry and stories, and even had a few published. She and Jack had many travels, notably to Singapore, England, Ireland, and Bali. Irene was predeceased by her parents and her beloved brother, Joe Tezak. She is survived by her husband, Jack; children Beth Pandol (Andrew); Michael Brookhart; Ann Brookhart; J.D. Brookhart (Jami); Bill Brookhart (Miriam); and 11 grandchildren and 3.5 grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
