Ian M Jackson, (88), of Centennial Colorado passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. Survived by his daughter Lesley (Richard) Thompson from California, two grandchildren, Lindsey from Illinois and Grant from Wisconsin,  brother-in-law Neville Barnes from Australia, nieces and nephews in Scotland, Rhona (Gary) Waugh and Ross (Barbara) Tulloch and from Australia Leigh (Stephen) Johnston and Glen Barnes. 

 

Ian, originally from Scotland immigrated to South Africa in 1959 with his new bride Esther to pursue his career as a mining engineer. He was an athlete and he enjoyed his professional soccer career along with tennis, field hockey, golf and squash at the Wanderers Club. In 1980, he moved his family to the United States. Shortly after retiring, he picked up his bagpipes that he had played as a young boy and joined a local group, Celtic Colorado Pipes & Drums. Throughout the years, he performed all over the Denver metropolitan area including numerous events with the Denver Brass. 

 

He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. 

 

Soon his ashes will join those of his wife Esther (2006) and son Murray (1988).

 

There will be no services as he requested privacy.
