Don was born on May 14, 1925 in Slope County, North Dakota (known as the smallest county seat in the nation). The son of Helmer and Mable Langlee of Bowman, North Dakota, he married Rose (Mara) Dasovich on March 28, 1952. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rose, of 55 years, his angel grandson, Alex, his adored sister, Carol Larson of Scranton, ND, and his best pal and younger brother, Robert (Bob). Survivors include his youngest brother, Tom, and his wife, Diana, of Prescott, AZ.; and his four children whom he loved very much, Donny and his wife, Sharley, of Cleburne, TX; Marc and his wife, Lora, of Denver, CO; his daughter, Sonja, of Tulsa, OK; and son, Jonathan, of Denver, CO. He is also survived by his three cherished grandsons Will, Nick and Joe. Don's family also includes his nieces and nephew, Ruth, Belinda, Dennis, Gayle, Debbie, Donna and Shelly and their families.

Don enlisted in the Navy in 1943 and served in the South Pacific. Upon his discharge, he used his GI Bill to attend Dickinson College and later transferred to the University of Denver where he attained his undergraduate and masters degrees in education. Passionate about learning, Donald continued to take advanced courses throughout his career. Don taught his entire career in the Denver Public Schools system and was an active member of the National Education Association, Colorado Education Association and the Denver Classroom Teacher's Association. He was a passionate member of the Democratic Party and attended county and state conventions. Don and his brother, Bob were avid Denver sport fans and were affectionately known as Denver Don and Bronco Bob, two of the Denver Bronco's biggest fans.

Grandpa, Papa, Papa San, Pops, Donald, Don, Uncle Don, Denver Don, Dad, Daddy, Mr. Langlee... He was known by many names, but no matter which one you called him by you knew he was the most generous, selfless man who cared more about the people around him than himself. You will be missed, Papa.

"I want to be remembered for two things; The love I have for my family first, and second, the work I did with young students for over 50 years". These are the words our Dad wanted to be remembered for.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated by Alex's Lemonade Stand, www.alexslemonade.org, in memory of Donald Langlee, a charity dedicated to eradicating childhood cancer, something that was dear to his heart.
