Gregory Ralph Mueller

Gregory Ralph Mueller, 70, passed away from natural causes in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, on Sunday, January 19th. Born on December 23, 1954, in Warren, Ohio, to Wil and Inge Mueller, the family lived in Toledo, Ohio and relocated to Denver when he was in elementary school. Greg attended St. Francis Catholic high school, where he formed lifelong friendships. Greg was recognized as a member of the Denver Post All-State basketball team in high school. He earned a basketball scholarship to the University of Colorado, Boulder and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Greg’s parents and father-in-law predeceased him. He is survived by his children: Brian Mueller (Kim) of Dallas, TX; Sarah Mueller of Delaware; Christopher Mueller of Highlands Ranch, CO; and Katie Mueller (Braulio Cuellar) of Aldie, VA and one grandchild, Nathan Mueller. He is also survived by his sisters, Susie Mitchell and Julie St. Onge (Mark) of Denver, CO, mother-in-law Aggie Sobol of Longmont, CO, mother-in-law Anne Sobol of Boulder, CO, sisters-in-law Sue Brown (Dave) of Lafayette, CO, Janet Borchert (Jeff Wood) of Westminster, CO, brother-in-law Dave Sobol (Cara) of Dover, MA and many nieces and nephews. Greg leaves behind Karen, his loving and devoted wife of nearly 37 years.

Greg was an avid golfer and a huge Denver Bronco, Avalanche and Nuggets fan. He supported the “black & gold” CU Buffaloes for the rest of his life, throughout even the rough years.

He was a collector of sports memorabilia and attended World Series games, the Stanley Cup and the Final Four. He spent many summers vacationing in Cape Cod with his extended family. Karen and Greg also took trips to the Big Island, Grand Cayman and last fall spent two wonderful weeks in Ireland. He was proud of his German heritage and traveled to Germany several times. Greg loved his music and his beer and was a true “Parrothead”, attending dozens of Jimmy Buffet concerts.

Greg dedicated many years to the transportation industry before retiring in 2019.

 Diagnosed with cancer in 2019, Greg bravely fought the disease for six years. He will be remembered as a larger-than-life personality with a deep, loud laugh and was a friend to everyone he met. Also known for being strong-willed, Greg would give others the shirt off his back and was quick to forgive. He carried his strong Catholic faith with him every day.

 Friends are invited to join the family for funeral services which will be held on Thursday, February 27th, at 11 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Littleton, followed by a casual reception at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rocky Mountain Cancer Center in Greg’s name.
