George Joseph Palm Jr. age 62, passed away peacefully in University of Colorado Hospital on July 20, 2017 surrounded by his loving children.
Born in Reading, Pennsylvania on June 6, 1955, he was the son of the late George J. Palm I and Mary A. Palm, nee Layton. He is predeceased by his brother Alan Scott Palm of Leesport, Pennsylvania. He lived in New Castle, Colorado with his companion Rita Jiminez and his faithful friend Buddy.
George loved baseball, his favorite team was the St. Louis Cardinals. He was also a Nascar fan and enjoyed fishing and many other outdoor activities.
He is survived by his sons George J. Palm III in Atlantic, Iowa and Alan S. Palm (Caitlin) in Rifle, Colorado; his daughters Shannon R. Lilly in Atlantic, Iowa and Linsey Ausmus (Curtis) in Jordan, Utah; his grandchildren Austin L. Palm and Alix J. Palm (sons of George III), Jayden Palm (son of Alan), Alysyn Palm (daughter of Alan and Caitlyn), Dustin J. Hansen (son of Shannon), Curtiss Ausmus Jr. and Izabella Ausmus (son and daughter of Linsey and Curtiss). Also surviving are three sisters Ann M. Brubaker, nee Jackson, and Joan D. Jackson, both of Temple, Pennsylvania, and Donna J. Lesher (Donald) of Shoemakersville, Pennsylvania; niece Alisha Lewis (David) of Wernersville, Pennsylvania, and nephew James W. Manegold Jr., two additional nieces, and three additional nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Crystal River Baptist Church, 2632 CO-133, Carbondale, Colorado on Saturday August 12th at 2:00 PM.
