Gary William Renken

We bid farewell to our father, Gary William Renken, who departed from this world on January 2nd 2025, at the age of 75. A pillar of strength and a beacon of love his absence leaves a void in our hearts. Surrounded by his loving family and friends in his final moments, he was a man of immense wisdom and stubbornness, and cherished the fun times spent with his loved ones. His passion for camping, 4-wheeling, model railroading, chasing trains and his unwavering spirit will forever be remembered. We believe he may have been a man born in the wrong era but made due with what he was given. We can’t recall a time we went camping, rain or shine in place he knew had a history of the railroad or following the old narrow gage railroad in one of his many off road Jeeps modified to withstand the terrain. In more recent years we all know how he enjoyed to cook as I am sure if you called him, he would tell you about a new dish and his spin on it and the time spent with his closest companions, his pugs. We will always remember and cherish him for the wisdom he had and love he gave to us all, especially our mother who has long since passed. As we all wish him to live forever and never leave us, we can’t be selfish for he lost the love of his life many years ago and he can finally be reunited with her and both can watch over us as they always have. We hope that we can continue to honor him by living our lives to the fullest and we hope when you hear that train blow its horn you will think of him.
