Frances "Fran" or "Frannie" Seifert, 83, died at her home in Denver, on March 5, 2014.
Fran was born and raised in Valley Stream, New York. She graduated from Valley Stream Central High School and the Latin American Institute and began a career in New York City in advertising and marketing.
In 1960 she moved to Denver. She raised two children, Steve and Carolyn, and was very active in the community, especially in the League of Women Voters. She returned to work in the field of education, first at Smoky Hill High School, and then for 19 years at Colorado Academy, 17 of those years as Director of Admissions.
Following retirement, she remained active in the League of Women Voters, as a docent at the Denver Public Library, and as an avid reader, traveler and bridge player.
Fran is survived by her son Stephen Seifert and his partner, Davol Tedder, of Denver; daughter Carolyn Wachuta, son-in-law Timothy, and 3 grandchildren: Christopher, Brooke and Sabrina, of Lakewood, Colorado. She was particularly proud that all three grandchildren are enrolled and thriving at Colorado Academy. Fran was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Smith, and her former husband, Arthur Seifert.
