Died October 23, 2016, in Parker CO. She was 103.
She was born on September 16, 1913, in Fergus Falls, MN to the late Carl and Mary Maude Littsen. She grew up in Fort Dodge, Iowa with her brother and sister. She married Arthur Lentz in 1933 and celebrated 67 years of marriage. She is survived had one daughter, Joan Field, son-in-law Harvey Field, three grandsons, , Stephen (Jean), Scott(Michelle) and Andrew (Donna)Field and 10 great grandchildren: John (Danielle)Field, Charles Field, Rachel (Brad) Farson, Stephen Field, Joshua Field, Matthew Field, Timothy Field, Sarah Field, Elizabeth Field and James Field. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Lentz in Sept., 2001, her brother Charles Littsen and her sister Anne Littsen Maricle . She will be sorely missed by family and friends.
Her life was full of work, activities and fun. She held a number of responsible positions in businesses and municipal government before becoming the Deputy Clerk of Court for Webster County, Iowa. She had been Executive Director of the local district of Campfire Girls of America. She was President of Saint Kathrine's Guild and a Sunday school teacher for many years at St Mark's Episcopal Church. She was also active in the Business and Professional Women's Association and other civic groups. After retirement she and Arthur moved to Bucks County, Pennsylvania to be near the grandchildren and again taught Sunday school at her local church and assisted in the Reading Program at the local grade School. Subsequently, they moved to New Port Richey, Florida where she became involved with the local AARP organization and the Pasco County Council on Aging. Her final move in 2004 was from Florida to Denver to be near family.
A Memorial Service in celebration her life will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Christ Episcopal Church, 2950 S University Blvd, Denver. A reception will be held at the church following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Memorial Fund at Christ Episcopal Church. She will be interred at North Lawn Cemetery in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
