Fayette Floyd Wilson

August 31, 1936 — January 30, 2025

Denver, Colorado

Rev. Fayette Floyd Wilson, of Denver, Colorado, was promoted to Heaven on January 30, 2025 at the age of 88.

Fayette was born at home on August 31, 1936 in Wyola, Arkansas, to Patrick Henry and Elva (Sherman) Wilson. They promptly moved back to the Lindon, CO area to farm near family. He stayed in that community until after High School graduation, working on the farm, playing basketball and training horses.

After accepting Jesus Christ as his Savior as a young teenager, he started preaching at 16 and after high school, he followed the call to ministry. He sold his saddle and traveled with a mentor, preaching in Colorado and several surrounding states.

Fayette met the love of his life, Charlotte, in Denver at church. They married in 1956 and faithfully served the Lord together in ministry. Serving the Crow and Navajo native Americans; traveling to Mexico, Haiti, France, Africa, Cuba and Poland; teaching Bible School and coordinating the “All-Church Fellowship” in the Denver area; pastored in Colorado (Chapel of Praise, March of Faith, Faith Tabernacle), Oklahoma and Arizona. All while working as a builder and carpenter to support his family. Fayette’s servant-heart and passion for God’s Word, will remain as a living testimony of God’s faithfulness from one generation to another.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years; Charlotte; their five children, Cherry and husband Gary, Stephen, Rhonda, Michele and husband Eric, Jeremey and wife Erinn; their grandchildren Jessica and husband Aaron, Joshua, Katlin, Jared, Julianna, Cecilia, Stirling, Maiya, Layton, Daniel and Lanae; great-grandchildren Illiana, Sebastian, Lewis and Felix; sisters Rosemary and husband Virgil, Kay and husband Jack; and a host of nieces and nephews, and beloved brothers and sisters in Christ. All who will cherish his memory and carry forward the good news of Jesus.

He is preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Nancy; his brother Morris; his grandchildren Amanda and Matthew, his parents Patrick and Elva; and as an infant, his younger brother Daniel.
