Evelyn N. Fantle, age 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 5, 2012.
A native of Houston, TX, Evelyn moved to Sioux Falls, SD in the 1930s as the bride of Samuel Bud Fantle Jr. and spent most of her years there before moving to Denver, CO in 2003.
After raising four children, she spent 20 years as a clerk at the former Park Ridge Drug Store and often commented on the many wonderful people she enjoyed meeting and serving during those years.
All those who knew her remember her as a wonderful and caring wife, mother, friend, or colleague who had a smile for everyone and a ready laugh. She is greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband Sam, her daughter Stephanie Helen Sordahl, her son Samuel Fantle III, and her son Steven Pierce Fantle.
She is survived by one daughter, Susan Fantle, and friend James Pennington of San Diego, CA; one son-in-law, Dr. Louis A. Sordahl of Santa Fe, TX; two daughters-in-law: Dorothy Sims Fantle of Hendersonville, NC, and Mary Louise Fantle of Denver, CO; one grandson, Gregory Meyer Fantle of Denver, CO; and three granddaughters: Melissa Davis of Bitburg, Germany, Tiffany Santerre of Seattle, WA, and Sarah Hilton Fantle of Las Vegas, NV. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
