Evelyn Florence (Capra) Dardano was born on October 13, 1923 to Pete and Edith (Colacito) Capra. She was born and raised in North Denver along with younger brothers Leonard and Ron. Evelyn married Alfred Dardano on January 1, 1944. They had two sons, Dale and Kenny. She lived in North Denver her entire life.
Our beloved Evelyn was a true, beautiful redhead that loved life. She was ready to get up and go any day and any time. She loved being around people and people loved being around her. Her wealth in life was her family and friends, sense of humor, great stories, love of music and classic movies, playing progressive rummy, bowling with friends, making ceramics, refrigerator magnets, celebrating Halloween, anything Frank Sinatra, and eating dessert.
She was a strong woman with inner peace and happiness. She took care of everyone with her unconditional love and had a strong Catholic faith. Her style and flair indeed lived up to her fiery red hair. We were all blessed with Evelyn in our lives. She lived a long, wonderful life.
She is survived by her sons Dale and Kenny Dardano, grand children Ryan and Dion Dardano, Kendra (Eric) Milton, Krystal Dardano (Topy Griego), great grand children Olivia Goodman, Taylor Dardano, Lyla and Rory Milton, and Orlando and Mila Griego, brother Ron (Loretta) Capra, aunt Esther Head, and daughter in law Devona (John) Algya. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, and her brother Leonard Capra.
We are so very grateful for the care she received from all the staff at Wheatridge Manor and the staff from Hospice that came in, as well as the care she received from Kim while still in her home. Your kindness, compassion and professional support are much more appreciated than we can express.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4200 Federal Blvd., on September 26, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
