Duane Heber was born in Denver, Colorado in 1951 and was proud to be a Colorado native. He was big brother to Gary, Diane and Mike. Duane married Rosie Staples in 1976 and they had 2 children, Courtney and David. Duane was the proud grandfather of Payton, Brycelynn and Colton Heber. He retired from the United States Postal Service in April 2016 after 31 years of service.
Duane loved bad dad jokes, making up his own (sometimes inappropriate) lyrics to songs, and impromptu gatherings on the deck (AKA the Party-O). He was a fan of celebrating the Fourth of July and loved Christmas and his huge collection of nutcrackers. He enjoyed trips to Blackhawk to play video poker and took great pleasure in watching March Madness.
Duane faithfully watched the Broncos and Rockies. He was a connoisseur of fine dining including hot dogs, popcorn, peanut butter cups, Pepsi and chocolate cake. He always ordered the “largest piece of carrot cake” from GeJo’s.
Duane was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed vacations that brought the whole family together. He was always up for an adventure and was kind to a fault. He loved and was loved by many.
