Emily Michelle Day, a current resident of Abilene, TX and former childhood resident of Hobbs, NM, passed unexpectedly in the arms of the Lord on December 11, 2016 at 34 years old.

Emily is survived by her father, Craig Reynolds; her daughter, Adeline Grace McNanna; her husband, Christopher Day; her grandmother, Lucille Reynolds; her grandfather, Warren Reynolds; her brother, Benjamin Reynolds; her nephews, Christopher Matthew Reynolds, Nikolas Daniel Reynolds and Jonathan Ryan Reynolds; and many uncles, aunts and cousins. She is preceded in death by her mother, Linda K Ales; her son, Landon Day; her grandmother, Ruth Ales; her grandfather, Cleve Ales; her nephew, Benjamin Isiah Reynolds.

Emily was born in Hobbs, NM on February 23rd, 1982 to Craig Reynolds and Linda K Ales. She graduated with Honors from Hobbs High School in 2001. On January 20, 2007, she welcomed her proudest contribution into the world - Adeline "Addie" Grace McNanna. She graduated from New Mexico State University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management. She worked in the hospitality industry, as well as in the advertising/marketing communication sales industry. On October 6, 2012, she married Chris, in Las Cruces, NM. Emily and Chris met at NMSU and shared a common occupational interest in the hospitality management industry amongst other hobbies.

Emily was a devoted mother and wife; a loving daughter, sister and all around family woman; and a loyal friend to many. Throughout her life, she was remembered as a talented dancer and track athlete. She was a well-respected member on the debate team in high school. While attending NMSU, she made the Sun Dancer team and was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She was a foodie at heart, always ready to try a new establishment and ready to cook new recipes for her family She was a religious and spiritual woman, involved in many church activities. Her most rewarding and enjoyable honor of her life was being an incredible mother - Addie always followed Emily's lead and Emily loved that part of her life most of all. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, sorority sisters, coworkers and all who knew her.

A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on December 30 at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. A celebration of life reception will immediately follow at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church. Flowers and condolences may be offered at the graveside service.
