Eloy Espinoza, Jr.

April 8, 1931 — February 22, 2015

Eloy Espinoza Jr. 83 died of cancer on February 22, 2015 at home in Denver Colorado around immediate family.

Eloy is survived by his wife of 54 years Mary I Espinoza, his children Marie( Steve), Louis(Gerri ), Diane, Victoria, Antonia(Frank), Tonantzin(Joseph), Cuauhtemoc(DeAnn), and sister Roberta( Bob), and numerous grandchildren and great grand children.

He is preceded in death by his parents Lloyd Espinoza (father), Vera Trujillo (mother), Daniel (brother), Lucille (sister), and Victor (son).

Eloy was born on April 8, 1931 to Lloyd Espinoza and Vera Trujillo. He served in the United States Army from 1955-1957 with an honorable release, he also attended Metropolitan State College. Eloy worked as a public servant in multiple fields of employment.

Eloy was a great family man and loving father, he married Mary I Davalos in 1961, and they had 8 children all together.

Eloy was a social active man who was deeply involved in the poor people's campaign, minority civil rights, multiple community boards/organizations, Politics-the North Denver Demarcate Party; he was also the neighborhood watch captain. He enjoyed walking, gardening, fishing, Church, and volunteering in multiple Catholic Parishes and Our Lady of Guadalupe being his home Church.

His family and friends will remember Eloy for his faith, great leadership, mentorship, and a person full of love and compassion.

A funeral is scheduled for April 6, 2015 at 0900 at Our Lady of Guadalupe located at 1209 W 36th Ave. Denver, Co. 80211 Fr. Luke and Hue will officiate followed by his burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver CO 80236, at 1130. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Eloy's life. Reception to follow at Rosa Linda's Mexican Café located at 2005 W 33rd Ave. Denver, Co 80211.
