Ellen Anderson

Ellen R. Anderson , 66, of Denver, Colorado, passed away November 5th, 2013 at The Denver Hospice following a long fight against breast cancer and Lupus.

She was born in Winstead, Connecticut on May 21st, 1947, to Jerry and Vivian Rassiga. Ellen grew up in Canaan, CT with her parents and sister, Terina. Ellen married Bob Anderson on February 17th, 1968. She and Bob raised a daughter, Heidi. Ellen loved being a mom and wife and she and her family spent countless hours swimming in their pool, taking family vacations to Bermuda and skiing. In 1990 Ellen and Bob moved to Vermont, fulfilling a lifetime dream of living in the Green Mountains.

In her younger years, Ellen worked as a lab tech at Hartford Hospital. She enjoyed getting to know the patients she worked with. She then started work in the title insurance business. During her career, Ellen started a successful business, Vermont Attorneys Title Insurance Company. Her favorite pursuit was marketing for the company, where her passion was driving through the beautiful State of Vermont meeting with clients.

In 2004, she and Bob moved to Denver to be close to their grandchildren, the apples of Ellen's eye. Ellen loved life and in her healthier days she enjoyed playing tennis, gardening, biking and skiing. Her absolute favorite activity was spending time with Ella and Ryan, her grandchildren.

She will be missed by many family and friends, but especially her husband Bob; her daughter Heidi Achenbach and husband Chris; and grandchildren Ella and Ryan Achenbach.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 November 22, 2013 at St James Catholic Church in Denver. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made online to the Lupus Foundation of America at donate@lupus.org
