Eleanor Willis, 86, passed on Thursday, January 22, 2015 in Centennial, Colorado.

Eleanor was born in Denver on May 21, 1928. She grew up in South Denver, graduating from South High School. She was married to Harry B. Willis who preceded her in death. She worked for numerous companies before a brief stint in real estate. She then took a job with Mutual of New York, training in New York City before moving with her daughters to California. She moved back home to Colorado after 10 years in California. She remained employed by insurance companies until her retirement in 1983.

She was a member of Mile High Church, and looked forward to Sundays. She took the classes with enthusiasm and loved the teachings. She was always touched by the beautiful music and beautiful messages she received from church.

She continued learning throughout her life by taking trips with Elder Hostel, traveling in her motor home and meeting people from other places. She was an avid radio listener and enjoyed books on tape after losing her sight. She loved to read and learn. Her inquisitive mind, sharp wit and incredible memory were an inspiration to her family and friends. She was a joy to talk with as she always had something interesting to share.

Her interests included playing bridge, golfing, volunteering at shelters during holiday dinners, as well as volunteer work to assist the blind.

She is survived by her 2 oldest children, Larry (Terry) Willis of Page, AZ and Carol Tilton of Centennial, CO. Her youngest daughter, Annette Johnston preceded her in death. She is also survived by her brother, George (Nancy) Woodman of Grand Junction, CO, and her sisters, JoAnne Bailey of Denver, CO and Marilyn (Arden) Swanson of Lakewood, CO. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Mile High Church, 9077 W. Alameda Ave., Lakewood, CO 80226 on Friday, January 30, 2014 at 2:30 p.m.
