Eddy Eustacio Maez, age 74, passed away peacefully on January 13th 2023 at his home in La Puebla, NM. Eddy was born and raised in Pecos, NM on June 22, 1948. His parents were Catalino Maez and Agapita Helena Roybal Maez.
Eddy was a jack of all trades, and played many roles in people's lives throughout his life, just some examples are having worked in the oil fields in Texas, the forest service, a ranch hand, groundskeeper and construction building houses. He could build anything; you name it, he could build it! Eddy was very handy and could fix whatever he put his mind to. In his later years he settled in La Puebla where he put his green thumb to use in the garden, never letting a weed grow. He was a perfectionist and never turned down a job. His favorite saying was "you're burning daylight". He had a big heart, always helping those in need. In his pastime he enjoyed playing his guitar, watching cowboy movies, listening to Spanish music, and late-night sewing projects. May his soul rest in peace.
Eddy is survived by his son Eddy Jr. and granddaughter Amara Nevaeh Maez. Daughter, Patricia Ann Berry and husband Bryan; grandchildren Arius Jacob, Alizah Lily, Kaliyah Hope Berry.
Sisters, Gloria Breiderbach, Lourdes Rains, Lorraine Brooks. Brothers, Agapito Maez and Freddie Maez. His best friends were Manny and Elaine Chavez, his neighbors in La Puebla.
He is preceded in death by his son, David Maez and many brothers and sisters.
The Family of Eddy Maez has entrusted the care of their beloved one to Avista Cremation & Burial
"where healing begins".
