Robert was born July 6,1933 to Alice and Russell Youngquist in St Paul, MN. He had one brother Bruce. He attended Johnson HS in St Paul, where he excelled in hockey and Gilbert and Sullivan musicals. He entered the University of MN in 1951 but in 1952 he was drafted and he spent two years in the U.S. Army, stationed in Japan. Returning to the University, he completed his undergraduate degree and went on to Dental School, graduating in 1960. Two years later he completed a Masters of Science in Dentistry degree with a speciality in Orthodontics. He met Loreen Redwing while in Dental School. After marrying in 1962 they moved to Denver where he set up practice.
Bob was very active in both local and national dental and orthodontic organizations. He actively pursued advance learning, completing many post graduate courses. He was a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontics. His special interest was in treating cleft palate children and he was a member of the Cleft Palate team at the University of Colorado for 25 years. He was a mentor to many associates.
Bob loved life; he loved people; he loved adventure. He enjoyed skiing, backpacking, travel, sailing and fast cars.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Lori, by son Mark (Nikki), daughter Anne and grandchildren Moki, Emma, Erik, Alyssa, Vassar and Lupine.
