Douglas Gillespie

July 22, 1950 — March 31, 2018

Douglas Gillespie was born on July 22, 1950 to Patricia and Harold Gillespie in Three Rivers, Michigan and died on March 31, 2018 in Denver, CO. Doug is survived by his mother, Patricia Doak, his loving wife Sandy, and 5 children: two daughters, Brooke (Jeremy) Gallegos, Blair (Tony) Provenzano; stepdaughters Holly Graves, and Brianne (Joe) Neville, and stepson Travis Picadura. Doug was very proud of his 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Doug was preceded in death by his father.

Doug lived in Michigan, Texas, and Arizona early in his life and made Colorado his home in the 1980's. It was in Denver that Doug met Sandy and they were married on November 11, 2000. They joyfully took on life's challenges together.

Doug was baptized on May 16, 1966 (Sandy was baptized that same year) and unknowingly, they attended several of the same conventions as children.

Doug was a generous man of many talents, but never wanted to be the center of attention. He loved cars, motorcycles, being by the ocean, and sailing. He could shoehorn a boat in practically anywhere. He worked as a lineman and later as a contractor, always with an eye for detail, a superior work ethic, and a keen sense of fairness. Doug loved talking with his girls about cars, work, vacations, and Jehovah. And in recent years, he loved being around the house with Sandy and their dog Xena.

Doug loved Jehovah God and his wonderful promise to restore justice and peace in a future paradise here on earth. He had a strong sense of loyalty to Jehovah and his Son, Jesus, and is now safe in Jehovah's memory.
