Dorothy Snodgrass

February 13, 1947 — January 8, 2017

Dottie Snodgrass, 69, passed away, peacefully, on January 8, in Lone Tree, CO, after a hard fought battle with cancer. At her bedside were her devoted husband, Wayne Snodgrass, and her daughters, Kimberly Snodgrass and Jennifer Janssen. Her life's grand adventure began with her birth in Montana and childhood in Wyoming. At 19, Dottie moved to California to work for Douglas Aircraft and met her true love. Dottie and Wayne then had eleven career relocations during their 49 years of marriage. Each community was touched by Dottie's grace, enthusiasm and contributions. Dottie was a wonderful "people person", kind and patient, always considerate of others. She served as president for three Newcomer Organizations (Cleveland, Annapolis and Littleton), was active in five United Methodist Churches and volunteered at hospitals and the White House. During her husband's eleven career relocations Dottie graduated from Ursuline College and worked for a variety of companies including Lear Siegler Corp, CA Real Estate Sales, Aeroquip Corp, GA Rental Property Mgmt, James R Bell Jr R&D, Developers Diversified Corp, Medical Billing Services Corp and Ridgefield City Administration. Her "best" job and top priority was being the family homemaker and raising two daughters. She cooked delicious family meals, planned elegant family vacations, made exquisite costumes, was the main fan in the stands for all the daughters' activities, and hosted the family and professional social events. Dottie's greatest enjoyments were the innumerable fun times with her family and being close to her grandchildren. She was the beautiful and talented center of gravity for her family. Dottie is survived by her husband, daughters, son-in-law Bill Janssen and three grandchildren, Ryan Draper, Laura Kate Janssen and Christopher Janssen. She maintained loving relationships with her extended family and network of friends across the country. She had a life well lived. The "Celebration of Life" for Dottie will be at the Hope United Methodist Church, Greenwood Village, on February 11th at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dottie's name to Hope United Methodist Church. "Dottie's Missions" will be a special fund.
