Dorothy Mosley, age 89, passed away on the evening of September 6, 2019 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Growing up in the hard times of the depression era on a farm in Kansas in a family of 7 kids contributed to her stoic yet forward approach to life. The family struggled with farming and moved to Spring Hill Kansas to start anew. She worked the farm with her father which she very much enjoyed. She enjoyed it much more than being indoors doing domestic chores with her sisters.
Dorothy married and had three children who she supported all of their endeavors and adventures. As they were completing their education she also graduated from Cal State LA and taught for many years before joining AutoGraphics as a proofreader. During this time she met and married her square dancing partner, Lee Mosley.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Calderwood; brothers, Allison Calderwood and John Calderwood as well as sisters, Barbara Jean Spies, Mary Helen Hendrix and Elizabeth Graham.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Victor Perry (Sue) of Santa Fe New Mexico, Joan Prouty (Gene) of Albuquerque New Mexico and Tricia Shields (ken) of Wheeling Illinois. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brenda Wilkins of Clarksville Tennessee, and John Emery (Natasha) of Lafayette California and Todd Shields (Amanda) of Riverside California. There are also 5 great grandchildren that called Dorothy “Gigi”, including Brian, Cameron, Allison, Rylee, Lucy, Alessandra and Liberty. As well as the newest addition, a great grandson, Weston.
Her loving presence will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
