Life’s Journey of Dorothy Ethel Johnson-Henry
August 23, 1930 – September 1, 2017
Dorothy Ethel Johnson was born on August 23, 1930 in the town of Mount Enterprise, Texas to the parentage of Belton Johnson and Bernice Biggers-Johnson. She was one of seven children. Dorothy attended Union Spring High School where she played basketball. At a young age Dorothy accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, she enjoyed reading the Bible every day and singing church hymns at home. On September 26, 1947, in Panola County TX, Dorothy Ethel married her soulmate; Fredrick Henry Sr. To this union was born two children; a daughter, Dorothy Ann and a son, Fredrick Jr. It was in Alamogordo, NM where she and husband Fred (affectionately known as Jack) raised their two beautiful children. Dorothy was a faithful wife and homemaker and very attentive to the care of her family and house. She and her family joined Corinth Baptist Church and Dorothy was active in church activities and participated in the choir ministry. Mrs. Henry loved spending time with her family, baking them sweet potato and pecan pies and would greet her grand-kids with a big hug and say "All of my babies are beautiful" and "Grandma-ma loves you". Dorothy Ethel Henry ended her earthly journey on Friday, September 1, 2017 in Albuquerque NM at the blessed age of 87. She is preceded in death by her parents – Belton and Bernice Johnson, her husband – Fredrick Henry, Sr., daughter – Dorothy Ann Henry-Kelly, son – Fredrick Henry Jr; her siblings – Chester Johnson, James Ray Johnson, Mac Junior Johnson, Willie Arthur Johnson, Arvelia Starling and Charles Johnson. Dorothy Ethel leaves to cherish her memory her grandchildren – Stephanie Kelly-Johnson and husband Timothy Johnson of Albuquerque NM, Robyn Henry-McCree and husband Bishop George McCree of Chandler, AZ, Bobby Kelly Jr. of Albuquerque NM, Roxanne Henry-Price and husband Jeff Price of Forney, TX; Stacey White of Las Vegas, NV and Rosalyn Kelly-Saucier of Los Angeles, CA; eight great-grandchildren, daughter in-law Janice Pearson-Henry and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins from California, Oregon and Texas.
