Donald Mcanally

Don McAnally, 87, of Thornton Colorado, previously of Littleton passed away August 17th, 2014. Don is survived by daughters Kathy and Carol; 4 grand-children and 10 great grand-children. Don served in the Army during WWII as part of the occupation forces in Japan. He went on to earn a degree in Geophysics at the University of New Mexico, where he also met his future wife. His career in oil and gas exploration took him and his family all over the country and the world - which agreed with his vagabond heart. He loved getting to know other cultures, meeting new people and exploring the surrounding areas. In his late 40s, Don became a Christian - his devotion to the Lord led him to study at Denver Seminary and become a Christian counselor. He counseled for many years at the Denver Rescue Mission as well as in his private practice. With his keen wit, dry sense of humor and crooked smile, Don was larger than life, lived that life fully and loved his wife and children. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Collier Hospice Center, 3210 Lutheran Pkwy, Wheat Ridge CO 80033. Services will be held August 25th, 10:15 am at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
