Donald Jay (Cookie) Cooke was born in Denver, Colorado to Ammon and Babe Cooke. Don grew up in East Denver and attended East High School. Don earned his Eagle Scout Award in Boy Scout Troop-24. He married his High School sweetheart, Leona V. Wall on February 26, 1948. They were married for 64 and ½ years. Don was a proud member of Masonic Lodge (Arvada) and belonged to the Shrine as part of the Provost Guard. Don loved many sporting activities but most of all he loved his league bowling and was inducted into the Colorado Bowling Hall of Fame on February 25, 2006. Don served as Secretary and Treasurer for the Homebuilder League for 52 years. Don worked for the Colorado Rockies for 18 years. For many years Don was a dedicated member and served for the United Commercial Travelers Association (UCT). Don loved his family and he loved life.
Don is preceded in death by his wife, Leona and Son-in-law, Joseph Hamilton. Don had four children Cheryl (Robert) Johnson, Cindy (Joseph) Hamilton, Douglas (Joan) Cooke, Dean Cooke. 11Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great - Great Grandchild.
