Donald Chaney

September 10, 1951 — June 25, 2013

Donald James Chaney, 61, passed away June 25, 2013 at his home in Centennial, CO after a four year battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He was surrounded by his loving wife Donna, children, grandchildren and extended family. Don was born in Sun Valley, ID to Glenn Philip and Ruth Scott Chaney. He grew up in the Wood River Valley and in Nampa, ID. Don attended and graduated from Nampa High School in 1969. He attended and graduated from Boise State College with a B.A. in Business in 1974. Don was a proud supporter of the Boise State Broncos. Don met Donna Rong while in college and they married on January 26, 1974. Don and Donna began their life together in Boise, ID. Don worked for Sears for 32 years in various locations including Boise, Missoula, MT and Aurora, CO. For the last several years Don was employed at Appliance Factory Outlet in Denver before retiring in August, 2012. Don is survived by his wife Donna, son Justin Debbie Chaney of Highlands Ranch, CO, daughter Erin Michael Moose of Clinton, MO, grandchildren Michael Starr, Bryce Allen, Lea Allen, Hunter Chaney, Alexi Chaney, Jacob Chaney, Katelyn and Logan Moose, and one great-grandchild Zoey Creer. He is also survived by his brother Philip Beverly Chaney of Emmett, ID and his sister Glenda Gene Blessing of Boise, ID as well as sister-in-laws, Gladys Larsen of Boise, ID, Mamie Don Bair of Boise, ID, Margie Ralph Dines of Marsing, ID, Mary Rong and Barb Hamon of Meridian, ID, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ruth and Glenn Chaney. Don will be laid to rest alongside his mother and father in beautiful Bellevue, ID. A graveside service will be held at Bellevue, Idaho Cemetery on July 2, 2014 at 1 p.m. Don will be remembered as a kind and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be truly missed. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society or The Blanche and Anna Chaney Nursing Scholarship at Boise State University.
