Dolores Frye

May 15, 1943 — March 3, 2017

Dolores ("Dodie") Helen Frye of Englewood, Colorado, died on March 3, 2017, at her son's home following a valiant struggle against cancer. Born to the late Helen Kardos and Julius Nemeth in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on May 15, 1943, Dodie is survived by her husband, Nelson Frye; her sons, John Ritsick (spouse, Louisa) and Josh Ritsick (Katie); her grandchildren, James and Neale Ritsick and Jessica Ritsick; her stepchildren Nelson Frye (Donna) and Beth Frye; her step-grandchildren Emily and Aidan Frye; and her sister, Irene D'Angelo.

Dodie devoted herself to raising two wonderful sons and loving her grandchildren absolutely. Her family and friends remember Dodie for her tenacity, creativity, and passion for volunteering at a farm providing therapeutic riding services to individuals with special needs. She saw possibility and bright colors in every situation she looked at.
Her personality was contagious and her desire to engage others was always stimulating. Dodie loved all kinds of animals and cared especially for the unfortunate ones. Her passion for art, music, and design was special, and you could hear it in her voice and see it in her dress and in the many homes she decorated with her husband. She loved to dance to rock 'n' roll and country music and could really get down. Her favorite singers were Barry Manilow and John Denver. She will be greatly missed.
