On October 26, 2015, Diane passed away unexpectedly while visiting her son Matthew and Granddaughters Illeana and Ella Mae in Montana. She was in a drowning accident due to a medical complication at a hot springs pool. She is survived by her husband Daniel, son Matthew, daughter Nicole (Justin), mother Priscilla, brothers John (Jackie), Allan (Darla), sister Linda, and grandchildren Illeana and Ella Mae. She is preceded in death by her father John, and brother Steven. She was 54 years old.
Diane was born in Abilene, Texas on July 26, 1961. She was one of five children in the family. She moved to Colorado in 1975 and lived there for the majority of her life. She met her High School sweetheart, Tim Kelly at the age of 15 and later married him in June of 1982. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1980.
Diane and Tim had their first Child, Matthew on October 26, 1982. They had their second child Nicole on February 7, 1987.
Diane and Tim divorced in October 2000. She married her second husband Daniel DeRoch on March 15, 2003.
Her first Granddaughter Illeana was born on February 26, 2011. Her second Granddaughter Ella Mae was born on July 31, 2013.
In early 2008 she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She received treatment and kept it in remission for 5 years. It returned in 2013 where she continued receiving treatments until her death. She was a strong woman of faith and her prayers worked miracles. She had a compassionate support system throughout her journey. She never gave up hope on a cure and stayed strong and courageous throughout her fight.
Above all else, Diane was a devoted and selfless Mother, Grandmother and Wife to her family. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life and the most important thing to her. There is nothing she wouldn't do for them.
She had many hobbies including sewing, quilting, crocheting, cross stitch, photography, crafts and gardening. She made her family many beautiful projects that they adore and cherish. She also made her grandchildren many elaborate costumes for Halloween. She always had a project going to give as gifts to her family. Her love and hard work is reflected in her amazing talent.
Her family will miss her strength in the face of adversity and her endless store of love, care and support for everyone around her. She was a strong, courageous, thoughtful, kind, caring and beautiful woman. She touched many lives and gave them inspiration, hope and courage. She was an Angel that walked this earth.
