Not only did he inherit the Alden family name he also inherited his mother's (Helene West) and his grandfather's (Harry Alden Grout) artistic and creative talents. Survived by daughter Amoreena Rose Corbin (Joshua Charles Corbin) and her family, daughter Abigail Arah-Lynn Corbin, and daughter Charleigh Alden Corbin; step daughters Juniper Sea Dickerson and Rhiannon Sage Dickerson; brothers Cary West, Mark West, Greg West (Jan West) and son Mike West, Dana West (Yvonne West) and children Dru West and Tara Boehrnsen, Jay West (Missy West) and children Cylis West and Jared West; sisters Tammy West, Anita Duby (Tom Duby) and children Nate Duby and Rachel Kimberlin, Ann Nicholson (Keith Nicholson) and children Jessica Nicholson, Alyssa Nicholson, and Lauren Nicholson; aunt Rosemarie Grout; and numerous cousins located throughout the USA; his girlfriend Kristine Fanning, long time friend John Hoymak III, and numerous neighbors, artists, community members and loved ones, there are so many people that were near and dear to his heart that I can't list them all - you know who you are. Dennis was predeceased by his mother Helene West and Father Elvin West.

He always had a love of art and then walked out the back door of the university and into the creative world and immediately continued being a metal sculptor, silk screener, designer, stained glass artist, illustrator, painter, and poet, he did all of these things with a true heart of a bohemian artist. He was so passionate about his art that he pursued it on a full time basis and things began to take off for him when he opened the 23rd Avenue Sculpture Studio on 23rd and King in the heart of North Denver where he was born and raised. After many years of being a starving artist he enlarged his world to embrace the North Denver community including local artists, neighbors, school children, and anyone who needed a helping hand. The open door policy that he always had for his space created something so special that there are not enough words to describe it.

He won numerous local and regional awards for his creativity, design and community involvement. His work can be found throughout the metro area, Colorado and can be found across the world.

As talented as he was his greatest gift was his open heart, his kindness, his humor, and his undeniable willingness to offer a helping hand in any situation for anyone - from fixing neighborhood bikes, to feeding neighborhood kitties and adopting stray turtles. His kindness has touched and formed so many friendships over the years.

In addition to his great talent, he lived a humble, simple life, and spent his entire life doing what he loved the most creating art and earning his "gold bricks" to heaven. This tribute to him could go on for pages and pages - but any of you that are reading this know how special he was to the world.

A celebration of life will be held on October 20th at 4101 N Harlan St, Wheat Ridge CO, 80033 from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM the family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Amoreena Corbin to help offset the remaining medical expenses.
