Dennis Acosta Sr

Dennis Acosta, Sr., age 66, of Hermitage, Tenn., died April 13, 2020. Affectionately known as PawPaw by his grandchildren, Dennis was raised in Louisiana, joined the Army as a teen, and had a son at 21. An aspiring singer and songwriter, he moved to Nashville in 1990. He will be forever remembered for making people laugh with his quick wit and satirical songs; and his grandchildren will have fond memories of eating lots of junk food and playing video games together. He is survived by his son, Dennis, Jr., (Missy), and grandchildren Dennis III and Martha, sister Sandra Acosta Herrle and brother Gary Acosta. He was preceded in death by his brothers Mike Acosta and Harvey Acosta, Jr. (Andy) and parents, Harvey and Louise Acosta, and his first wife Cynthia Kitchens.A memorial service will be planned when family is able to gather together.In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to Alive Hospice.
