Debra Cohen was welcomed into this world on April 4, 1952 and joined our heavenly father on June 25, 2013. Debra was a beloved mother to Tod Cohen of Denver, Andy Cohen of Fort Collins, Dawn Ryan Shawn Ryan of Broomfield and David Cohen of Denver. A grandma nana to Mykaela Ryan, Ayden Cohen, Shawn Ryan Jr., Anahleigh Cohen, Chloe Cohen and Brielle Ryan. Debra lived her life by putting others before herself. She would go without so her kids could have what they want. She devoted her life to the education and growth of today's youth. She dedicated her life working with children at Cheltenham Elementary School and North High School in Denver, Colorado. Along with working for DPS she put in numerous hours of volunteer work there. She could always be counted on by the teachers and staff.
She had many interests and passions but her major one was her love for baseball.
No matter how bad the Rockies played, she was a die-hard fan. She also liked the Cubs and Braves. Until the age of 60 she had never been out of Colorado, which at that point we were able to make her dream come true and take her to Las Vegas. This was something that she had wanted to do for so long and was thrilled for the chance to do it.
We would like to invite all family and friends to a "Celebration of Life" on July 9, 2013 at Elks Lodge 10969 Irma Dr. Northglenn, CO 80233. It will open at 5:30 and close at 9:30. We would like to have a potluck. The Cohen family will provide the main dish and drinks, if everyone else is able to bring a side it would be greatly appreciated. Let's come together and celebrate Debra's life and share good memories together.
