Deborah Doll

February 11, 1951 — April 13, 2015

February 11, 1951 - April 13, 2015

After a protracted battle with cancer, Deborah Lynn Doll died peacefully on April 13, 2015 at home in Lakewood, CO at the age of 64. She leaves behind her husband, James Doll; her daughter, Terri Snavley; and her sons, Daniel and Corey Doll.

Deborah was born on February 11, 1951 in Pickstown, South Dakota, to father Paul and mother Lois Anderson, who both predeceased her. She grew up in a loving family with two older sisters.

Deborah married James Doll on August 1, 1970 while she was attending Black Hills State College and he was in the U.S. Air Force. They lived in Rapid City, SD, then Layton, UT. There the couple lived and raised their three children, before relocating to Lakewood, CO.

Her interests included family, gardening, cooking, reading and her pet dogs. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members and grandchildren. Deborah worked in the local library for many years with a love of novels. When diagnosed with colon cancer in 2011, she remained dedicated in her family and in her will to fight her illness. She remained a brave, iron-willed woman, even throughout her final months.

Deborah is survived by her husband and 3 children, as well as her sisters, Carol O'Brien and Alyce Schlomer; 11 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Deborah requested to be cremated. The memorial funeral service will be held at the Cremation Society of Colorado chapel and her ashes will be interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Deborah's name to either the UNIVERSITY of COLORADO HOSPITAL, CANCER CENTER FUND at web site https://uch.thankyou4caring.org / or HALCYON HOSPICE, PO BOX 177, MEAD, CO 80542-0177. The hospital did everything possible to cure her and Halcyon Hospice made her last days comfortable. Thanks to both.
