Deacon Andy “Andrew” Lopez age 56, died peacefully on December 27, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones. Andy Lee Lopez was born on May 29, 1965 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Andres Lopez and Emma Lopez-Sandoval. Andy is preceded in death by his parents, brother (Manuelito).
Andy is survived by wife Rose Lopez, of 25 years, beloved son Robert Lopez, best friend, Gene, grandma Jenny Romero, uncles, aunts, cousins, god-children and many friends.
Andrew was ordained to the permanent diaconate by Archbishop John C. Wester on June 16, 2018.
Andy had many talents, worked as a mechanic, welder, heavy equipment operator, cook, bus driver, construction, owning several businesses. Andy was a Catechist at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, teaching children’s liturgy, pre-confirmation, confirmation and youth minister, where he impacted many lives with his teachings. Andy was employed by Avista Cremation & Burial where he also impacted many lives with his words of wisdom. He was involved with the Penitentes, Knights of Columbus, Caballeros de Vargas,
(2011 Don Diego de Vargas).
Pallbearers: Gene Bachicha, Lee Garcia, Arcy Duran, Dave Paul, Mike Ramirez, Adolfo Maes.
Honorary Pallbearers: All those lives he deeply moved emotionally.
Visitation Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 6:00 pm. followed by the rosary at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass Friday, January 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
All services will be held at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church. Internment immediately following mass at Rosario Cemetery.
