It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David "Dave" Fromme, an imaginative, curious, inventive, and often silly soul, who departed this world on April 26, 2024. Born on November 30, 1948, Dave lived a life brimming with great adventure and immense generosity.
Better known as "Dave", his endearing personality had a knack for lightening the mood in any room. He was an eternal learner, always pushing boundaries, and encouraging others to do the same. His life was guided by simple but profoundly influential principles: hard work, keep learning, and have fun. These lessons will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who were privileged to know him.
Dave graduated Magna cum Laude from the University of Notre Dame in 1970 with a Bachelors of Science in Physics. He continued his studies at Iowa State University obtaining a Masters in Nuclear Physics. In 1982, Dave received a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. He began his career at Lawrence Livermore Laboratory as an Electrical Engineer. Since then, he has progressed through many career transitions culminating in becoming the founding member of SARA's Colorado Springs office.
David is survived by his beloved daughters, Larissa Fromme and Kelsey Conkling (Drew Conkling) and his grandchildren, Caroline and Clay Conkling. His legacy of generosity will continue to inspire his family and loved ones, reminding them of the remarkable man that he was. Dave had a knack for making the ordinary seem extraordinary, his lively and bright personality forever etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him.
In celebration of Dave's vibrant life, a gathering will be held on May 3, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Jack Quinn's Irish Pub and Restaurant. All who knew and loved Dave are welcome to attend, share stories, and remember a man who was truly one-of-a-kind.
In lieu of flowers, the family graciously requests that donations be made to the "Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Endowment Fund". This cause was close to Dave's heart, and your support will be a beautiful testament to his life and the joy that visiting zoos brought him.
Gone but never to be forgotten, Dave's spirit of adventure, generosity, and tireless curiosity will continue to inspire and guide us all. His was truly a life well-lived.
