David Allen Chandler, 31, died on May 6, 2015 in Broomfield, CO. He was a beloved son, brother and friend who is missed terribly. He was born October 30, 1983 in Denver to Brad and Debbie Chandler. The family lived in Boulder, where he attended University Hills Elementary, before they finally settled in Broomfield with step-dad Mark, and his two adoring sisters. There, he attended Ryan Elementary School, Mandalay Middle School, and Standley Lake High School. As a young man, he enjoyed school, sports, playing guitar and making mischief of all sorts.
A lover of the outdoors, he spent his free time traveling, camping and hiking with friends and competing in mud runs like Colorado's "Devil Dash", and was a gifted artist. David worked for a locally owned and operated business, and was proud to have earned his way to supervisor.
His real passion in life, however, was Boxing and physical fitness. For the last 10 years, David volunteered as a youth mentor, was a talented fighter, and extended family member at Delgado's Gym in Denver. When a boxing injury forced him to the sidelines, he switched gears to achieve certification as a personal trainer and as a boxing referee. Coach Chandler, as he was known, taught classes at several prominent Denver gyms, he hosted a boxing blog and his training career was just coming to fruition at his passing.
David is survived by Mother Deborah Vail, Father Bradley Chandler (Linda), sisters Danielle Chandler and Kayla Vail, sisters Naomi Wells and LeeAnn Hughes, stepfather Mark Vail, and several important people who were there in support and love at key points throughout his life.
Our David wasn't much for material possessions, so the family is mostly left with memories of his quirky intellectualism, his wry sense of humor, his kindness to the downtrodden, and many great meals together. The service was held at Delgado's Gym in Denver, on May 31, 2015. Please feel free to share a memory with him, or some pictures below.
