David Harold Brooks, 62, of Dayton, TN, received his wings on the morning of April 9, 2022, at Alive Hospice facility in Nashville, TN, after a short battle with lung cancer surrounded by his daughter and family. David was born November 15, 1959, in Dayton, TN, where he lived his entire life. He worked many years as a brick and block mason until an injury on the job left him disabled.
He is preceded in death by his father, Harold "Buddy" Brooks of Dayton, TN.
He is survived by his mother, Dortha Hickman of Dayton, TN; daughter, Jessi (Dwayne Lackey) Brooks; 2 grandchildren, Aaliyah Netherton and Sidney Enoch; and 1 great grandchild, Madilynn Fox, all of Lebanon, TN; 4 sisters, Susan Cunningham of Graysville, TN, Teena Brooks of Spring City, TN, Cindy (Dan) Hendrick of Evansville, TN and Kim Goins of Dayton, TN and brother, Jennings (Lynette) Brooks of Dayton, TN; step-mother, Judy Bohannon of Dayton, TN; 4 nieces and nephews, LaDawnya Morgan, Angie Waller, Cheyenne McFarland, and Brandon Hendrick; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and nephews and many friends.
The family will receive friends and loved ones for a Memorial service held in David's honor on June 4, 2022, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Potter's House of Prayer Church at 130 Back Valley Road, Dayton, TN 37321, with the service starting at 2:00 p.m.
