David Ballash

March 28, 1947 — January 17, 2016

He graduated from Fairview High School in 1965.

He served as a merchant marine in 1966 through 1968

David hired on with United Airlines in May of 1972 in Cleveland Ohio

Received his certification in Human Resource Management in 2009

David moved to Colorado in 1980 and retired from United Airlines in 2012 with 40 years of service in Management.

David enjoyed reading about everything including E.T. and Big foot, listening to classical music, traveling, golfing, flying, skiing, horseback riding and bird watching. His love for a dog named NYYA stayed with him till death. He had many good friends and neighbors who stayed by his side in his fight against cancer. The Rocky Mountain Cancer Center (Mid Town) Doctor and Nurses helped David and the family deal with his disease. David was a very kind, gentle and loving person.

David was surrounded by his Wife, brother, children, sister in-law and close friend at Swedish Medical Center.

Surviving him is his wife Lucy A. Ballash of Denver; children Dawn (Beckby) and husband Christian of Nebraska; Carrie (Gill) and husband Paul of Wyoming; Heather (Nieto) and husband Anthony of Colorado; and son Jason Ballash of Colorado along with many grandchildren; twin brother Douglas and his wife Marnie of Ohio, as well as nieces and a nephew; four sister in-laws and two brother in laws.

He is preceded in death by his Mother Doris J. Cowan and Father Glenn G. Ballash.

A Celebration of Life will be held later this year and added to this site with details.
