Dan was born in Inglewood, CA to Norman and Avis Listul. Dan spent his very early years in Denver until moving to Elizabeth, CO in 1961. Dan graduated from Elizabeth High School in 1974 and then enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he spent four years at Homestead AFB specializing in avionics on the F4 Phantom. Airman of the month earned him a ride in the F4 Phantom out over the Gulf of Mexico. After his military time, a stint with Rocky Mountain Airways lead Dan to United Airlines working in the maintenance division, where he was recently recognized by the company and his peers for completing his milestone 30th year of service. Dan's latest assignment was as a Maintenance Instructor on the Boeing B787 Dreamliner. This position had taken Dan worldwide training mechanics how to repair United and Boeing's newest aircraft.
Dan enjoyed target shooting, tinkering in his garage, watching old movies and spending time with his family and animals.
On 03-12-16, Dan succumbed to his second bout of cancer. He was surrounded by his family at his time of passing.
Dan is survived by his wife Lisa of Elbert, CO daughter Caroline of San Antonio, TX, son Norman Jay of Aurora, CO, siblings Shelley and (Terry) Hornung of Stratton, CO and Warren and (Gwen) Listul of Calhan, CO and several nieces and nephews.
