Dallas Lee Ober lost his battle with colon cancer on Monday October 14, 2013 at the Denver Hospice Care Center at Lowry. Dallas remained at home and active until 4 days before his death when he was taken to the hospice care center. Dallas was the youngest of three children born to Raymond Harold Ober and Hulda Helen Reiland Ober. Dallas was born November 1, 1955 in Pender Nebraska. He spent his childhood living in various towns in Nebraska. He would end up in Bassett Nebraska where he attended high school and met his wife of 37 years Cynthia Ann Luther. Dallas moved to Denver with Cindy in May of 1975. They were married September 12, 1976 in Bassett, Nebraska. Two children were born to this union, Alexander Ray of Hudson, and Chrystal Dawn Rosin of Aurora, Colorado. Dallas loved his family and his cars. Dallas was a civil designer and worked for XCEL Energy, Utility Engineering, and Zachary Engineering until 2009 when he took a buy out to leave Zachary. One year later, he was diagnosed with terminal colon cancer and would begin one of the hardest fights of his life. He fought hard to live and never gave up. He would undergo 70 chemo treatments, 3 major surgeries, and still he remained positive never complaining. He was a firm believer that life was worth living. He is preceded in death by his parents, several aunts, uncles and cousins. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Cindy, children, Alex and Chrystal Paul Rosin; three grand children Nickolaus Ray and Jason Scott Ober of Columbus, Nebraska and Ryan Stewart Rosin of Aurora, Colorado; one sister Alice Koehler of Norfolk, Nebraska and one brother Melvin Ober of Sterling, Colorado; his nieces and nephews, and other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to the Rocky Mountain Cancer Assistance, PO Box 6625, Denver, CO 80206, or to Cindy Ober to help with the cost of the funeral expenses.
